YOGA, It Does A Body Good!
Yes, there were and still are days when I feel myself getting down because of my limitations and how much I so desperately miss those days of being in great physical condition before my injury ended all that.Someone had suggested to me that I might benefit from yoga. When I finally finished laughing after getting a great visual of me attempting to put my broken parts into those almost painful looking poses, I said; "You're kidding me, right?"
They were actually quite serious and enlightened me on the many types and forms of yoga there are and how a class in "Chair Yoga" might be doable for me. "Chair Yoga?" I questioned with sincere interest. I was then told how it is a basic form of yoga where the participants (Most with physical disabilities) can receive the benefits of yoga without having to get on the floor or put yourself into funky positions.
I searched and found a "Chair Yoga" class right at the YMCA I belong to. Who knew? I signed up (and so did my wife) and all I can say is; "It was one of the best decisions I could have ever made regarding my health!" I had another major surgery coming up in 3 months and I wanted to be as healthy as humanly possible before it. Well, to make a long story short, I was discharged from the hospital two days after my surgery. Can you believe it? To this day, I am positively certain it was because of the "Chair Yoga" I had been doing the previous months before.
Yoga has so, so, many great benefits both physically and spiritually Here is just a sampling of what and how yoga can help you;
